This is legislation aimed at safeguarding the well-being of a critical Illinois workforce, and I am proud to stand beside the Illinois Drivers Alliance to ensure our state's 100,000 rideshare drivers have the option to collectively bargain with companies like Uber and Lyft. 3/3
In Illinois, our rideshare drivers offer crucial and convenient mobility, especially in areas where there are gaps in public transit, so our residents can reach jobs, education and much-needed social services. That's why I was proud to advocate for ride share unionization. 1/3

May his memory be a blessing. 4/4
Today I mourn as we reflect on the life and legacy of the formidable Reverend Jesse Jackson. I send condolences to the entire Jackson family as they mourn their father. 1/4
My own career draws inspiration from Jackson’s historic 1988 presidential campaign where as a Black man he dared to take on the status quo and pushed our politics to a more equitable future. 3/4
