Happy #PrideMonth, Michigan!
This month, let’s focus on uplifting and protecting the many folks within the LGBTQ+ community. I am a proud ally and am committed to expanding equality to all, regardless of how they identify or who they love.

Showing up for hardworking Michigan families and dedicated childcare providers is crucial amidst the ongoing childcare crisis and constant rising costs.
It’s always great to have folks from the 19th district visit the Capitol. Last week, we were joined by students from the KPS Hillside Middle School Student Senate and today we are joined by members of Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) on their legislative advocacy day.
I am happy to have my colleagues join me in declaring today, May 13th, as Rail Day in the State of Michigan.
Railroads play a crucial role in our day-to-day lives and countless workers dedicate their lives to keeping rail safe, effective and supporting Michigans economy.
We must recommit ourselves to working together with Michigan’s Tribal Nations to stop this violence against indigenous people and ensure Michigan is a safe place for everyone. 2/2

This morning, I joined @WKZONews for my monthly legislative update. We discussed the latest with the state’s budget process, the signing of my memorial highway naming bill honoring Master Sergeant Gregory Kuhse, tomorrow’s election and more. Listen here: https://t.co/L9fJG2MIJ2
I was proud to pass a law in the wake of this disaster that gives our environmental protectors a way to better and more quickly respond to something like this in the future instead of waiting around for years of litigation to bring solutions that were needed immediately. 3/3
The Kalamazoo River is a vital resource to Michigan and our community.
The disastrous sediment release at Morrow Dam set back our progress to restore this waterway. It choked the growth of fish and wildlife for many seasons. 1/3

I appreciate @MIAttyGen Nessel’s work to arrive at this settlement as likely best outcome given the circumstances and to achieve some accountability for the responsible parties. 2/3
Let’s recommit ourselves to continuing to empower workers to form unions and advocate for the fairer compensation, working conditions and treatment that a true strong economy depends on. 2/2
Today is May Day! So many working protections and benefits we have today are because of the tireless efforts of workers organizing and collectively bargaining. 1/2
It was a pleasure to be a part of the groundbreaking this morning at the @FlyAZO Kalamazoo / Battle Creek International Airport to celebrate their important project to extend their primary commercial air carrier runway.
Thank you to those who attended my Community Conversation this morning at @NACDKzoo. I always enjoy connecting with constituents on the issues that matter most to inform my work in Lansing.
Happy Earth Day 🌎 Be it big or small, actions matter. I am proud to work with my Senate colleagues today and everyday to focus on clean energy programs and legislation.
