If we truly want to reduce flooding, we must stop encroaching on natural watercourses. Rivers, streams, and drainage channels exist for a reason. Blocking them with buildings only redirects water into our homes and communities.

Floods may not be entirely preventable, but their impact can be significantly reduced when we respect our waterways, enforce planning regulations, and build responsibly.
