Senator for Kwajalein, Republic of the Marshall Islands. Minister-in-Assistance to the President & Environment Minister ‘17-20. Climate & clean energy champion.
These 18 world leaders represent a solid core of front runners who can kickstart momentum in the first quarter of next year to deliver on the promise of the #ClimateAmbitionAlliance assembled by the Chilean @COP25CL Presidency. We call on others to join us! #COP25Madrid
Nauru’s President & Samoa’s PM have joined our list of 18 leaders committed to delivering new Paris targets by early 2020 & achieving net zero global emissions by 2050. Uniting Behind the Science to Step Up Ambition by 2020 statement remains open. 🇳🇷🇼🇸 @Republic_Nauru@samoagovt
It has been the pleasure of my life to serve as the President of the Republic of the Marshall Islands. Our government helped make the world safer, delivered real benefits for the Marshallese people and set our country up for the future. Best wishes to President-elect David Kabua.
I needed a minute after #COP25 to breathe and process. Thanks @JamieTahana for the interview and for highlighting Pacific voices. @President_Heine @MinisterSilk @MinisterDPaul
President Panuelo of the Federated States of Micronesia has become the 19th world leader to sign the ‘Uniting Behind the Science to Step Up Ambition by 2020’ statement, committing to deliver an enhanced Paris target by March and to achieving net zero emissions by 2050. 🇫🇲 @FSMPIO
#Risingseas and sand erosion are threatening the atoll countries of the Maldives, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, and Tuvalu. ADB is investing $5 billion in a plan to protect healthy oceans, but urgent #climateaction from the global community is needed

If it was not for the Marshall Islands and our #HighAmbitionCoalition, there would have been an even weaker outcome at #COP25Madrid. While we should be disappointed with the behaviour of some big emitters, we should be proud we helped protect against an even weaker outcome.
Just published by @FAOPacific: A brochure detailing the data from a Marshall Islands survey of the effects of climate-induced weather events on household food production, consumption & #foodsecurity. Read "Namu Atoll: El Niño-induced drought 2016" here: https://t.co/sfbu3vvx9h
All the @WMBtweets partners will be working to ensure 2020 is the year that exponential growth in business, investor, city and regional ambition breaks through the thick walls of indifference surrounding laggard country governments!!!
TUAK bwe ELIMAJNONO!" We will continue to brave the waves and rough seas, and face the challenge head on.
" For my country, my daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren, victory MUST be ours. If we manage to save our country, we will be able to save the world." tdb
We came to #COP25Madrid to make the planet safer. Unfortunately, the new text we adopted this morning does not reflect anything near what we would have wanted. Nevertheless, it does make clear what we all agreed in Paris, which is that next year is a year of delivery.
#COP25Madrid is not over yet. That does not mean it is an opportunity to gut the text in order to simply get to an outcome. What the Presidency presented overnight on ambition was good. No country can credibly stand in its way. And the Presidency should feel a strengthened hand.
“I need to go home and look my kids in the eye and tell them we came out with an outcome that will ensure their future. The text must address need for new and more ambitious NDCs and long-term goals. We can't leave with anything else.” 🇲🇭 #COP25Madrid https://t.co/TlkVjQHvVp
The #HighAmbitionCoalition has taken stock. We need a text that goes beyond business as usual. We need a text that is ambitious and says very clearly that we will enhance NDCs next year. We are now working to make that happen. #COP25Madrid
The #MoanaBluePacificPavilion was truly a home away from home for the Pacific Islanders at #COP25Madrid. Kommol tata to all the amazing organizers. 🌺🌺🌺
#Marshall Islands is a nation living on 29 coral atolls. It will be one of the nations that will suffer most with #Climatechange! Meeting Ms Tina Steve, Climate Envoy to President of Republic we realize the importance of declaring #climateemergency ! #COP25#Madrid#TimeforAction
