@pnthomas Maybe this text didn’t mean women as well (Not!) or it has an exclusion for name calling (Not!) Good grief! Society would be much better if we’d live this stuff when it hurts instead of getting so wrapped up in power trips that we lose our moorings. Hang in there!
Missouri has lost one of our greatest legislators. Ron Richard was the only person in Missouri’s history to serve as both Speaker of the House and President Pro Tem of the Senate. Ron Richard was a stalwart leader. He knew how to keep a legislative body productive to the benefit of his fellow Missourians.
Ron Richard brought a lifetime of experience gained as an educator and business executive to public service.
May the Good Lord comfort his wife Patty, his siblings, and his many colleagues and friends.
Claudia and I are heartbroken by the loss of our dear friend, Ron Richard.
Few elected officials have been a more effective advocate for Missourians than Ron. Our state was blessed to have his steady, consistent leadership. I also consider myself blessed to call him a friend and will miss him dearly.
Ron has taught me more about responsible leadership and public service than any other person in the Capitol. He was a source of wisdom, advice, and counsel that cannot be replaced.
Our prayers are with his wife, Patty, and his family as we mourn the loss of a great man and Missourian.
