Port Augusta is the gateway to the Flinders Ranges, and to the spectacular outback – and Peter Dutton wants to build a nuclear power plant there.

Mr Dutton's announcement this morning had no detail, no costing - and not even an indication of how much power would be generated.

Port Augusta and regional South Australia are filled with the cheapest and most sustainable form of energy – renewables. Mr Dutton wants to replace that with the most expensive form of energy – nuclear.

This week, @tanya_plibersek announced Australia’s first national Environment Protection Agency.

The EPA will deliver stronger powers and penalties to protect the environment, more information and greater transparency to the public.

A new migration agreement between the Albanese and Malinauskas Labor governments will make it easier and fairer for SA businesses to get the skilled workers they need.

This includes 2000 positions being made available for regional employers.
