’Twas the night before Christmas in Kansas, all quiet in state,
While taxpayers slept, politicians sealed fate.
The Capitol buzzed with a bipartisan glow,
Red ties and blue ties all whispering “go.”
Republicans preached of the free market’s might,
Then signed welfare checks for a billionaire’s site.
Democrats vowed they’d protect the little guy,
While handing out billions and winking an eye.
The Governor smiled, pen ready to fly,
“Look—jobs! Look—growth!” “No new taxes!” was the well-rehearsed cry.
They hugged at the podium, left, right, and center,
As taxpayers wondered, “Hey… where did we enter?”
They promised Super Bowls, Final Fours galore,
Big events, big stages, they swore and swore—
But tickets priced high, out of reach by design,
For the folks funding every last luxury line.
They dusted off STAR bonds, stretched far past their lane,
A “district” so massive it redefined the game.
Once meant for towns and a modest boost,
Now bloated and bent till the rules felt loose.
The stadium sparkled in ribbon and bows,
Paid for by folks who can’t miss a paycheck or two, who knows?
While donors popped champagne and owners said “cheers,”
The public got debt for the next twenty to thirty years.
So keep this in mind as the lights dim tonight:
When Topeka agrees, read the fine print twice.
Because this wasn’t a deal — it was history made,
The worst stadium swindle any state ever okayed.
📣 Endorsement Announcement!
For the last six years Senator Mike Thompson has served the people of Johnson County in the Senate, working tirelessly to improve lives. Mike is an independent conservative thinker who stands firmly on principle, even when it means challenging the establishment. He led the Senate on major victories including election integrity, protecting our energy infrastructure, preserving constitutional freedoms, and restoring the people’s right to elect our Supreme Court. He has been in the trenches with me on every fight these past few years. I’m honored by Mike Thompson’s endorsement and grateful for his friendship.
I’m incredibly disappointed to see that Washburn Law School is pushing Critical Race Theory on our state’s up-and-coming attorneys. Kansas has always been a place where hardworking people are rewarded based on merit, not the superficial differences promoted by this woke ideology. Washburn Law School needs to remove any semblance of CRT from their curriculum and get back to teaching students about law, not divisive identity politics.
It has been reported that the University of Kansas has announced they will stand by Brianna Lichtenauer Wasser, who disgustingly stated that Charlie Kirk is “better in the ground as worm food,” and she will face no disciplinary action. This is a betrayal of Kansas values and a clear violation of our state’s social media policy for university employees. She certainly has a First Amendment right to say what she believes, but she does not have a right to work for us, the Kansas taxpayers.
I remain appalled by Wasser’s abhorrent remarks, which reflect a toxic ideology infiltrating our campuses and classrooms. The silence from the administration only underscores the weak leadership enabling this disgrace. Taxpayer-funded institutions like KU must uphold learning, civil debate, and respect—not harbor individuals supporting political assassinations!
I reiterate my call to action: Demand KU terminate Brianna Lichtenauer Wasser immediately. Contact KU Public Affairs at [email protected] or (785) 864-2700 to make your voice heard. Kansans deserve better.
Laura Kelly's decision to side with rioters over law and order sends a clear signal: our governor will bend the knee if this violent mob makes its way to our state.

The governor's devotion to extreme left-wing ideology knows no bounds, vetoing a bipartisan bill that prevents the mutilation of minors. The Senate stands firmly on the side of protecting Kansas children and will swiftly override her veto before the ink from her pen is dry.#ksleg

Big win for the rule of law. Congress never intended that illegal aliens should receive Obama care benefits. Indeed, two laws prohibit them from receiving such benefits. The Biden administration tried to break those laws. But we fought back, and defeated the Justice Department.
This tiny white square is man-made CO2—0.0016% of the atmosphere.
They’re taxing you, robbing your income, and controlling your life over something essential for plants and a greener planet.
Climate alarmism isn’t science—it’s a scam. Wake the fvck up!

This morning, the Kansas Supreme Court affirmed the legislature's right to limit ballot harvesting and to require signature verification on ballots. This is great news!
I voted for both bills.

I want to wish you and your families a Happy Easter. I hope everyone has time this weekend to remember that He gave up his life for our salvation, and that it's only by His grace we get through each day. God Bless you all on this most blessed weekend!
The weaponization of the Federal justice system became more frightening as Steven Baker, a journalist covering January 6th, was arrested this morning for simply doing his job. This should worry every journalist reporting the truth: https://t.co/codNcYf775
