For decades, the Bronx has faced asthma-related health disparities, with higher rates of hospitalizations compared to the rest of NYC.
Last week, the NYS Senate passed my bill, S1075, which creates a temporary state commission to study the incidence of asthma in the Bronx.

For many years I have been proud to host mobile constituent services hours to help ensure our residents can access the services they need. See flyers for the dates and locations of our upcoming off-site constituent service hours for the month of June.
The 29th Senate District is filled with many unique and wonderful neighborhoods, and we feel it’s important to have our constituent services team in the community, reaching our constituents closer to where they live.

Yesterday, after a very long process, we passed our enacted state budget for 2026-27. This budget contains funding and priorities that are critically important for the 29th Senate District and for communities across New York State.

Yesterday, I was proud to honor Rafael Rodriguez Jr at our 2026 Veterans Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Mr. Rodriguez, a Bronx resident, served in the US Army Reserves, rising to the rank of Sergeant E5, & served on three tours of duty & several humanitarian missions overseas.

Today I chaired a mtg of the Senate Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks & Recreation.
Among the legislation reported was a bill to help increase access to state parks for communities across NYS, & a bill to allow our veterans to fish for free in our state parks.
