PSA: I have started the 1st Black led housing trust here in LBC. Community Revolution In Progress Housing Trust is dedicated to securing affordable housing members of MY community battling gentrification. This is our first apartment building in the Eastside thanks for the love!
@hassanrahim Bro I went to look up a place like this in mid city was like a 80 year old man Facebook was the last platform he was ever going to learn thankfully for me
Got to see one of my favorite LA artists, the director of Killer of Sheep Charles Burnett last night at the new 4K restoration screening done at the Aero @AmericanCine
@usermaynotexist@panchoUSofA@NobleQAli I think I have been pretty consistent throughout the discussion. And have acknowledged you and OP especially with respect to this field that I work in. Let me know your thoughts on the study from the institute for African and African American research at Harvard when you can
@usermaynotexist@panchoUSofA@NobleQAli Urban center= large densely populated area.
Affluent= having a great deal of money. I’m not sure why we’re diverting from the clear point being made about the future of Black children to crack jokes about definitions. Thought we were just having a discussion not trying to win
@usermaynotexist@panchoUSofA@NobleQAli Affluent is just another word for white. I thought that me saying white managerial class would be clear that I’m referencing white people. And the data you linked to from LAUSD shows schools that have 90% latino student sites in low income areas having dual immersion programs
@usermaynotexist@panchoUSofA@NobleQAli Who have to compete in a job market where they’ve been intentionally undermined by the public education system, which they dominate. Cambridge university put a peer reviewed study on this years ago https://t.co/jgAYHvvkbO
@usermaynotexist@panchoUSofA@NobleQAli I was engaging under the argument made by OP, that a need for bilingual skills in jobs is a tool to exclude Black adults from the candidate pool. Assuming of course that the Black children who are deprived of access to dual immersion opportunities would naturally become adults
