By 2026 OPP officers will be making 126k annually while most Ontario paramedics sit in the mid 90k range. The gap continues to grow and there's absolutely no reason for it. It's time to invest in our people and stop the bleeding.

Why is it ok that we clear homeless encampments and take away housing for those least fortunate in society yet we leave encampments of uber privileged university students in place to intimidate and disrupt academic pursuits.
In honour of Paramedic Services Week, Rowland Emergency extends our deepest gratitude to the brave paramedics who dedicate their lives to saving others. Your commitment, skill, and compassion make a profound difference in our communities every day.

The current family doctor shortage in #Ontario is market economics in action
It's no longer economically feasible to practice family medicine
Humans are predictable. When things get too expensive, they'll stop doing that thing... this includes practicing family medicine 🤷♂️
@SylviaJonesMPP These spots were forced filled through the second match. Occupied by graduating medical students who need a job and would rather do family medicine than sit a year out unpaid. This is a misleading statement.
Stop. You’re literally wrong. You have no clue what matching to family medicine means
Most of these MDs will work in a non 1o care envt. How do I know this? Bc I literally teach them. They’re seeking clinical opportunities where they are paid enough to pay back their $150K debt.
The Ontario Minister of Health continues a tradition of ER docs providing free medical care (to those OHIP eligible and not eligible) without valid OHIP - knowing our ethical and medicolegal framework and we will turn no one away. @OntariosDoctors @SylviaJonesMPP
The minister is accurate, if you need emergency care in Ontario and you don’t have valid OHIP, you will never be turned away. Every ED doc and surgeon I know has provided this care.
The issue is that we provide this care for free. We don’t get paid for it. That’s the issue.
Instead of properly funding and staffing EMS ...we will just send firefighters to EMS calls so they can hold the patient's hand until EMS arrives.
