@Jaku Yeah I don’t know the whole discourse you’ve seen. But I know a fair share of people who took the affiliate back in the 2010s and who wouldn’t take the deal nowadays. Hell, in the past few months I’ve seen advices in multiple discord telling small streamers to refuse affiliate.
@Jaku But that the thing, I fundamentally disagree that current situation and ten year ago situation are remotely comparable. Ten years ago, you legit didn’t know it’d do "that", "that" being the current ad situation.
@Jaku If you signed for a job 10 years ago and over time the working conditions have become increasingly terrible, I think it’s fair to argue that the current situation is nothing like what it was when you initially signed the contract and that you didn’t know how bad it’d get.
@Jaku There was also a time where Prime used to remove all ads. Nowadays Twitch is pushing ads so hard that streamers even have the option to force ads on subs.
@Jaku "This is how it has always been" is kinda disingenuous considering the amount and length of ads has been skyrocketed through the years. Current situation is definitely not how it has always been.
@EvaliaVae@kirimeows If anyone wants to avoid the racist guild, it’s that one: https://t.co/vf9yKu0S3h
Love that they’re proud of being friendly racists.
@SekamelicaGames@WeatherFell@KupoGames It definitely reads as a bit petty/offensive, but it also read as unapologetically leftist. If your goal is to maximize profit and good reviews on Steam, that might not be the best play. If your goal is for marginalized people to feel welcome in your community, it’s great.
@WeatherFell I was there when Celeste released with the permanent stamp on your savefile when enabling Assist Mode and they decided to remove it and the community lost its mind.
People are really too comfy with shaming accessibility feature users.
@Thdlock I don’t mind it for main. But it needs an overhaul for alts. Not only is the grind absurdly long on alts, but the achievement system incentivizes you to make weird alt optimization to gear your main faster, it’s bad all around.
@AlevtineOnIce@1_laemie I mean, this indicates a drop in people looking up texture pack, yes, but it’s still at 20% of its peak and let’s be honest, its peak has always been quite low to begin with. Everyone was definitely not using a texture pack.
@herosnvrdie69 Men: "men are doing more dangerous work"
The dangerous work: construction work with zero regard for any safety measure whatsoever

@_AlexHirsch@walterkirn I’d be horrified. But also in that example the dogs are actively destroying the planet, and we’re globally inserting them in the workforce. Also, the dogs that can’t count letters in a simple word are assigned the task to proofread stuff, and we’re firing the human proofreaders.
@BeanDip___@AmigxGringx Now empathetically, yeah, if you know some people are gonna pick the blue pill, you wanna save them. MrBeast’s phrasing made it sound like children would have to pick too, and yeah I don’t expect 5yo to be good logicians.
But that’s saving people from themselves, basically.
@BeanDip___@AmigxGringx "Helping others survive", helping others survive what, exactly?
Like, SummoningSalt’s rephrasing of the problem is completely equivalent from a logic standpoint. The only thing it does is making it more obvious to people that blue pill is, logically, a terrible choice.
@niersgestalt People can enjoy different things in games than you do, and not do that for internet point, but because... you know... different people enjoy different things.
I would give raiding with my friends a try if it didn’t require me to spend 100 hours into a single player JRPG first.
@BlackOutCos Trying to play an MMO with friends and being forced to drop group and do solo content every 5 minutes is pretty much the opposite of "fun" for me. I was promised an MMO, I got a single player JRPG.
@summoningsalt@Bismuthi As someone who disagrees with your button take (yes, the logic problems are equivalent, no the button dilemma can’t be reduced only to its logic aspect), it’s wild seeing so many people fail to understand your point AND get so irrationally angry at you because of it.
@domo_yoro_ Ok the whole idea that 2d platformer are not trans at their core and someone making an indie game with an animal is betraying the lgbt wave is absolutely wild. But the fact that, among all animals, they argue penguins are not lgbt icons is so funny.
