Debunking the Phantom Debts and Ecological Loan Fallacy
My attention has been drawn to trending claims by the Anambra State Government that my administration left behind inherited debts, including a ₦2 billion ecological loan, contractor liabilities, and unpaid salaries, gratuities, and pensions. This is completely false.
We systematically liquidated historical gratuities and arrears dating back several years, amounting to over ₦35 billion. At the point of handover, the state owed nothing in salaries, gratuities, or pensions, nor did we owe anything to any contractor for projects duly executed and certified.
The ₦2 billion ecological fund in question was released barely three months before the end of my tenure for the Oko/Umuchiana erosion crisis. Despite pressure to spend the money, I refused, insisting that it should be left for my successor because government is a continuum and the funds were tied to a specific project.
The money was therefore left 100 per cent intact in First Bank, in Account No. 2018779464, with a balance of over ₦2.13 billion.
It is important to stress that funds tied to specific projects or set aside for particular purposes were not even included in the over ₦75 billion in savings we left behind.
If anybody can establish anything to the contrary, I will stop campaigning. -PO
It is scary listening and watching this…
“Weld from here to here…”
“The bolts…Go to the market and buy the one you can find…I will give you money..”
“We will put CCTV…down load it to your phone…”
You would think that this federal minister is talking about repairing his house gate!!!
The old River Niger bridge is a steel-truss road bridge that was completed in 1965.
Just like the failed Benin-Agbor- Warri road…it is the major artery connecting east and west of the country- the only one until the recent completion of the 2nd Niger bridge. It has seen years of service, wear and tear from daily use and now vandalism, have taken their toll…
That bridge is overdue for a comprehensive managed maintenance program of work.
At the very minimum a battery of nondestructive tests to determine current structural integrity and how much its load bearing capacity has been compromised is what is required…in the first instance…
But professor of project is here saying “weld from here to here…” “go to the market and buy bolt…”
How ??? Which bolt? Just any bolt will do ??? No consideration for tensile strength and load factor ???
Weld what??? With what???
Have you rated and tested the plates to see their actual condition ???
May God help us !!!

Chief, I am a mafian in Christ. In fact, all Catholics are.
The Catholic Church, if you insist on calling her a mafia, is a peculiar one.
Let me tell you chief, we're a family that has outlived empires, buried kings, crowned saints, built the world's oldest continuously operating institutions, preserved knowledge through the darkest centuries, founded universities, pioneered hospitals, cared for the poor, sheltered the abandoned, and preached one Gospel across continents for nearly 2,000 years.
A mafia whose greatest weapon is a crucified King and whose initiation is baptism. Whose code is love of God and neighbour.
Whose headquarters have watched civilizations rise and fall without abandoning the faith once handed down.
Anyone can call it whatever they like.
But if there is any organization whose fingerprints can be found on the history of education, healthcare, charity, art, philosophy, science and human dignity, it is the Catholic Church.
She is not perfect because her members are perfect, but enduring because Christ is.
I believe in the holy Catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
What a beautiful mafia indeed :)
I asked a Ronaldo hater why he doesn’t like Cristiano Ronaldo.
He said, “He’s too proud.”
I asked how he came to that conclusion.
He replied, “Because he speaks highly of himself.”
So I asked him:
“If you don’t believe in yourself enough to speak highly of yourself, who should?”
He had no answer.
Many of you don't know the origin of Ronaldo's famous SIUU celebration.
It came after then FIFA president Sepp Blatter publicly mocked Ronaldo while praising Messi.
He joked that Messi was the "good boy" while Ronaldo was like a military commander.
Ronaldo's response wasn't a press conference.
He responded the best way possible.
He scored and celebrated like a commander.
That was how SIUU came about.
Fast forward to today.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino has made public comments about teams and players that many fans have interpreted as showing personal preferences.
It was compounded with him saying that he suffered to watch Cape Verde outplay Barca despite going up against Argentina and the Ref, appointef by Infantino.
The people in charge of Fifa have clearly made their postion clear that they aren't always as neutral as they should be.
That's my issue.
Not Messi.
FIFA.
The governing body of world football should never leave fans questioning whether it has favourites.
I've stayed out of the Messi vs Ronaldo debate for years.
The moment I criticized FIFA's bias, a section of Messi fans completely proved my point.
Instead of addressing the argument, they are addressing me.
Insults.
Namecalling.
Zero substance.
I used to think no fanbase could top APC supporters as empty barrels.
Then I met Messi Twitter.
Some of the replies are so poorly thought out they don't even deserve a response. All they get is the block!
Ronaldo consistently chose more competitive environments throughout his career than Messi did. That's a football opinion I'm happy to defend with arguments.
And he has gone on to have an awesome career.
He is my goat.
Messi may be yours.
And that's okay.
You embody everything a man needs to succeed. You're that kind of person a father would want his son to look up to. For in life, it is not what you're given. It is what you make of what you're given. That is the true mark of GREATNESS.
OBRIGADO CR7!!!
The problem you people have with Ronaldo is you want faux humility from him. You’re diminishing everything he has achieved, yet you still don’t want him to blow his own trumpet.
This is a man who has spent over two decades proving himself at the highest level, breaking records people thought would stand forever, winning everywhere he went, and carrying the weight of a nation’s expectations on his shoulders. If anyone has earned the right to speak proudly about his career, it’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
You celebrate confidence when it comes from others, but when Ronaldo acknowledges his own greatness, suddenly it’s called arrogance. That’s not humility you’re asking for, that’s pretending his achievements aren’t extraordinary just to make other people comfortable.
He doesn’t need to apologize for knowing how great he is. History already agrees with him. Five Ballon d’Ors, countless trophies, the greatest goalscorer football has ever seen, and three major international trophies for Portugal after they had won none before him. Those aren’t opinions; they’re facts.
Greatness doesn’t always whisper. It speaks with the confidence that comes from years of sacrifice, discipline, and delivering on the biggest stages. Ronaldo is simply reminding you of it.
