Today I learned I have been teaching the etymology of "murciélago" all wrong for so many years! I originally thought it came from "mur-death" and "cielo-sky", bat = death in the sky. PERO! It actually is mur, coming from Latin mus (mouse) and ciego - blind. Blind mouse! WOW!

They are the BEST IN THE STATE. The Lafayette Commodore Annual received the highest price in the state, Best Yearbook. Congratulations! They scored top five in seven out of seven individual categories and winning two: Senior Ad design and Overall Design as well as Best Overall.
