The linked game flow on @NatStatTrick is score-and-venue-adjusted, which works in favour of the Senators getting a lead and holding it for the entire game while on the road.
The way the #Sens won tonight, relying on goaltending to hold a lead, isn't sustainable, but it goes both ways. They deserve to have a winning record based on their play, and puck luck happened to be on their side this time.

#Sens have played six games so far, and you won't believe this. In terms of 5v5 xGF%:
- J. Brown was positive in 4 of them
- Holden and Zaitsev were positive in 3 of them
I personally need to see a bit more before declaring that the sky is falling.
The weak link on defence was the top pair of Chabot - Zub. Despite a lack of egregious mistakes, they conceded quite a few chances to Joe Pavelski's line, with the other two pairs posting positive results. (3/3)
Tonight's 3-2 #Sens victory featured a strong power-play and goaltending. They defended well at 5v5 while not creating much offence of their own. Per @NatStatTrick, the Top-9 were solid while Parker Kelly and Alex Formenton largely struggled. (1/3)
Note: Kelly and Formenton didn't play enough on one line to register on NST's tracking of forward lines, which is why they aren't pictured above. (2/3)
In the #Sens home opener, they conceded 48 shots, but they actually outplayed Toronto at 5-on-5 in terms of xGF% according to @NatStatTrick. Connor Brown's line had the toughest matchups against Tavares, Marner, and Nylander, while Parker Kelly's line was dominant. (1/2)
Nick Holden, traded to OTT, has almost always put up excellent results in depth minutes. Whenever I post his card it really bothers the fans of whatever team he's on so seems to be an eye test vs. numbers thing. #GoSensGo
Here's my version of the inaugural Seattle Kraken. Among others, we've also selected Mark Giordano, who we're trading at 50% retained salary to a team in desperate need of a left-handed defenseman.
Brady Tkachuk and Josh Norris were an inseparable duo in 2021, but they played with multiple RWs this past season. Looks like they should go with either Brown or Batherson on that top line next year. #Sens
