"We're a Team." - GMPD
A video tribute to the early summer excitement in @Senators land.
Can we keep Danger Flutes and Trumpet Song?
I propose Trumpet song as the best musical representation of the early July emotions for #sens fans.

The team is preaching calm, process-orientation, stoicism as a CAUSE rather than as a RESULT.
They preach this for good reason:
Detachment from outcome/calm/stoicism leads to better performance.
But Getting There is where people falter.
So what’s the difference?
From the outside, it certainly looks like most of the team has succumbed to this.
Here’s the tricky thing: it’s not that being stoic is bad.
It’s about HOW you achieve that calm stoicism.
Here’s my guess at the crucial mistake:
After travelling to Ottawa for games 3 and 4, I do want to say that there are many incredible, reasonable fans of the Senators in that building.
Did we have a beer thrown at us by Sens fans from the upper bowl? Yes.
Were the Sens fans we sat next to incredible people who knew their hockey and showed nothing but respect and kept all jousting throughout the game friendly? Also yes.
After the no-call on the Marner trip in game 3, I was standing and shouting with hundreds of other Leafs fans. The guy next to me was yelling “Ohhh sit dooown! Sit down!”
Then he grabbed my arm and said “Not you specifically, bro!”
Pretty funny. We all shook hands before and after the game.
Game 4, we sat next to a daughter who brought her recently widowed mother to the game and explained she’s trying to get her out of the house. Full Sens gear for both of them. They loved the boys & I - had so much fun with them. They joked about reporting us for the booze we snuck into the arena to pour into our pops. They nearly shed a tear when I offered them some of my Timbits decked out in my Leafs gear.
I love giving it to some of the dummy Sens fans online. End of the day, we’ve got plenty of dummies of our own on here, too.
It’s pretty wicked when everyone sings the Canadian anthem together, though. And it’s pretty wicked when you’re sitting next to real hockey fans who know their stuff, keep it real, and show respect. I met some great people and had a blast at both games.
To the real ones in Ottawa, I salute you. 🫡
The 21-year wait is OVER.
The Battle of Ontario is BACK.
“It’s my third year now, and I think those are my favourite games to play against Toronto.”
Why the Senators are confident heading into the Battle of Ontario with the Maple Leafs.

“Steve Staios talks about one thing more than anything else — the culture we had to change here. We had to change the culture of the room, down to the individuals, even the kid who cleans the room, every trainer. The way we walked around here, even the entrance we use to enter the building is now different. We have a new private entrance to our locker room area. All those little details — he doesn’t miss a single one. A big part of it is giving these guys a swagger, so they say, ‘Hey, we’re the Ottawa Senators.’”
