Lots of iPhone Duo users are urging each other to stick a glossy screen protector over the phone’s Nano Texture coating. Videos of PPF being applied to the Duo keep popping up on Facebook these days and are getting tons of views.

The cause is the Nano Texture coating itself. This matte coating handles glare well but lowers the screen’s contrast, so images look noticeably washed out, and the surface picks up fingerprints easily and never wipes clean.

The fix Duo users are choosing is to apply a clear, glossy protector over the inner screen. After that, the screen looks clearer with much better contrast, and the glossy surface shows fewer fingerprints than the original matte coating.

The trade-off is that once it’s glossy, the screen goes back to glare and reflections outdoors, exactly what the Nano Texture coating was made to fix. So it’s a matter of taste: if you care about picture quality, stick it on, and if you use the phone in the sun a lot, leave it as is.

A PPF application clip for the iPhone Duo from Moby Case Shop got over 76 thousand views in a short time. That number shows glossy screen protectors are a topic Duo users really care about.

🔥 THE NANO TEXTURE SCREENS ON THE IPAD PRO AND THE IPHONE DUO AREN’T THE SAME

- On the iPad it’s the whole glass surface, still gets lamp glare, anti-glare isn’t as strong as the iPhone Duo’s, but the screen is clearer and more 3D-looking. It’s like those anti-fingerprint tempered glass protectors.

- The stronger the anti-glare, the more you trade off in viewing angles and black levels.

- And some guy in China peeled off the Duo’s film entirely and underneath was a regular glossy glass screen, so later when it needs replacing, customers with active AppleCare only have to pay $19.99 to swap in a new film.

In short, the Duo’s nano texture screen is a film, not whole glass like the iPad Pro, guys 👍

The video of Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang playing with a flock of Microduck robot ducks during his keynote at GTC Berlin has gone viral big time 👀

The little ducks stomp their feet, beep like R2-D2, sit down, roll over to sleep and do flips on voice command
Just one day later, Hugging Face CEO Clem Delangue said pre-orders had passed 20,000 units.

The Microduck costs $399 and is an open-source robot made by Pollen Robotics, a company under Hugging Face that Nvidia acquired back in September.

The ducks are taught basic moves in simulation, and users can teach new tricks and share them.

Early orders are expected to ship before Christmas, I think it could easily be the hot gift of this holiday season.

Apple now sells products mostly on its reputation and brand from the past, but honestly speaking, their products have run out of creativity.

People buy Apple for the ecosystem. Apple probably won’t collapse anytime soon like BlackBerry or Nokia did back in the day, but gradually withering is for sure.

Maybe this is also a chance for a second Steve Jobs to rise up and grow.
