Our X account and Telegram bot are getting wired into Roseman so alerts fire automatically when thresholds are breached. By May, Airbnb hosts will be able to prove their apartment's ecology with real sensor graphs.
The Altruist product line is expanding. Insight ships as a standalone indoor sensor, a Repair Kit keeps devices maintainable under $30, and the Family Pack bundles indoor and outdoor coverage. In May we're adding gas sensing (NOx, O3), prototyping a combined Insight+Urban device, and building Insight standalone firmware — a direct Aranet4 competitor targeting Amazon.
On the infrastructure side, https://t.co/F7qf5ngGvL is becoming a federated network. Multi-provider map support arrives in April, and by May both Connectivity and Roseman ship as standalone servers. Communities will be able to fork https://t.co/F7qf5ngGvL and run their own instance.
We're also preparing an Indiegogo campaign — eco-drone adventures in Cyprus, monitoring water quality at beaches and reservoirs.

I installed two Altruist Dual kits at home. I connected them to my local open-source Home Assistant smart home server and set up an automation linking an IKEA air purifier to the Urban unit mounted on the veranda. The Insight paired with that veranda Urban went above the living room sofa — the perfect spot for checking CO₂ in the living room, and a place where the e-ink screen won't bother anyone with light, while showing data from both the balcony and the room without getting up from the couch. The second Urban + Insight kit went into the kids' room: the Urban under the desk, so I know how dusty it is where my child plays, and the CO₂ sensor on the desktop.
Only one Urban is published to the https://t.co/bRn9D2rEzj map — the other three devices run in local-only mode. No other devices will grant you such flexibility.
Very happy with the setup. I'd say it's a must-have for any family with a tech geek in it — the whole family ends up interacting with the sensors a little and learning something new.
White haze over Limassol this morning — dust, or just humidity?
The citizen network says humidity:
• coarse (PM10) and fine (PM2.5) dust stayed below the WHO guideline all night and morning
• coarse/fine ratio ≈ 1.9 — mixed marine + urban background, not the >2.5 of a Saharan dust intrusion
• satellite column stayed clear (AOD 0.11–0.17) — no dust aloft
So the milky look is light scattering on hygroscopic sea-salt and background aerosol at ~70% humidity — water, not mineral dust.
Practical: fine to ventilate; the haze burns off as the day warms and humidity drops. No purifier or mask needed today.

The full timeline of the Limassol dust storm — from the first impact on Thursday evening to clean air this Friday morning — in one chart.
Two waves hit the city overnight. The second, arriving before dawn on Friday, turned out to be the strongest air quality event we have ever recorded in Limassol. By early afternoon it was fading, and by evening the readings were back below the health limit.
A small bump returned around 9 PM as the boundary layer compressed — but it stayed well below the WHO line and resolved by midnight.
This morning the air is clean. Dry-corrected readings are around 12 µg/m³ — back to normal spring levels.
