@rickygervais Virtue signaling definitely substitutes applause for action. Using your position of power or celebrity to call the for a freedom of a marginalized people isn't inherently virtue signaling.
What a cynical and stupid way of thinking about doing virtuous things in this life.
@FlaggMavs boo hoo dude. this is the least a person in his position can? Why are you all so fragile -- and assume ultra-rich celebrities are so fragile?
@cooked_fruit@emilykschrader I’m saying imaging someone were to say this during the 40s. “Get out… don’t talk about the Jews and the war”. Neutrality is what keeps these atrocities going on. Music is not apolitical.
@emilykschrader Supporting a regime like this that hides behind using a Hamas attack as an excuse to do this, is like supporting nazi germany in the 1940s.
@emilykschrader This is a modern day holocaust. No it’s not as bad as the holocaust, but at the moment you have a rogue nation with a radicalized military, who regularly admit to shooting children on video, in addition to the actual bodies found to confirm this.
@pitchfork The guy went out of his way to be inclusive towards everyone including Jewish people, saying "I want all of my Jewish brothers and sisters to know that my criticism of Israel is In no way shape or form a criticism of you.... I stand for Jewish people". To be offended this is NUTS

@alon_mizrahi Aloh, you don't realize how important this. People don't decide where they're born.
But to use your privilege to create something that spread awareness is more of a contribution than simply ostracizing yourself for being Israeli.
