Missing Rivers Youth Reunites With Family 18 Years After Disappearance

Gospel Kinanee has been reunited with his family 18 years after he mysteriously disappeared as a teenager and was later discovered in the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre.

According to his family, Gospel was just 14 years old when he left home one night in 2007 and never returned.

Despite searching extensively and visiting several police stations, they were unable to trace his whereabouts.

His brother revealed that the family had even visited the correctional centre twice during their search, but never found him.

Gospel eventually regained his freedom as one of 21 inmates released during the Rivers State Jail Delivery Exercise, flagged off by the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Amadi.

The family was shocked to discover that while they knew him as Gospel Kinanee, prison records identified him as Baridi Sunday.

Reports indicate that Gospel spent years in custody without a formal trial or access to legal representation.

His case has also raised concerns about his mental health, which is now the subject of ongoing legal proceedings.
