This Memorial Day, the Justice Department honors and remembers the brave men and women whose sacrifices secured the freedoms we cherish as a nation. Their courage and legacy will never be forgotten.
Join us May 30 at the #911Memorial as we commemorate the 24th anniversary of the formal end to recovery operations at Ground Zero. We’ll mark that milestone by honoring the courage and sacrifice of 9/11 rescue, recovery, and relief workers; remember those who have died due to 9/11-related illnesses and injuries; and recognize the resilient spirit of survivors and the lower Manhattan community in a special commemorative ceremony.
For those who can’t be with us in person, the ceremony will be streamed live: https://t.co/6QdqLPVSaz
National Police Week honors the law enforcement officers who ran toward the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.
Their courage in the face of the unthinkable saved lives and held the line when it mattered most. We remember them this week and every week.
During #NationalEMSWeek, we honor the courage, skill, and sacrifice of Emergency Medical Services professionals who serve on the front lines of crisis every day.
At the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, we also remember the seven EMS members who lost their lives responding to the 9/11 attacks. They were among the first to answer the call, racing towards danger without hesitation to save others.
Their bravery reflects the highest ideals of the EMS profession—service, compassion, and resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy. We honor not only their memory, but the continuing legacy of all EMS personnel who carry forward their commitment every day.
