High-res imagery showing the devastation wrought upon the strip appeared on its GovMap website, then it was pulled

If Israel is justified in ethnically cleansing Gaza so that it can be settled by them, why is it scared of its people seeing it?

The most obvious answer is that nothing justifies this level of persecution and destruction

Can you imagine the outrage if Russia wiped out the majority of Ukraine and forced its people to live in tents?

What if Putin then called for other nations to take in Ukrainians so that Russia could rebuild the country and settle it themselves?

There would be even more sanctions, stronger calls for him to be arrested as a war criminal, and it would be widely accepted as genocide.

But Israel can decimate Gaza, indiscriminately kill women and children, openly call for seizing the territory and settling it, and we're all meant to be fine with that because of Oct 7?

That massacre was unjustifiable

🇮🇱 This poor boy's story makes me sick.

His name is William. He’s 9 years old, Armenian and Christian, and on Yom Kippur he was riding his bicycle through Jerusalem listening to music when Jewish extremists reportedly confronted him over his headphones.

According to Israeli journalist Yossi Eli, they heard him speaking English and one of them said, “No English, Jews,” before William was pepper-sprayed.

The police later closed the case without making an arrest.

There’s a video of the aftermath.

William is crying in an ambulance while his mother tries to calm him and tells him his little sister Arev is safe.

And I think that image explains something that all our enormous arguments about Jerusalem sometimes obscure.

We talk about religious coexistence as geopolitics, history, borders and competing claims.

But its failure eventually becomes something painfully ordinary.
