The U.S. troop reduction from Germany was announced months before the Israeli strike in Syria. Reuters reported the 5,000-troop drawdown on May 1, tied to broader tensions over European burden-sharing and the Iran war, not to Israel-Turkey tensions in Syria.

Then, in July, the United States joined the other NATO members at the Ankara summit in reaffirming the alliance and its collective-defense commitments. That is a peculiar way to “leave NATO.”

Four days before the Israeli strike in Syria, Mossad chief Gofman spoke by phone with the Syrian foreign minister and discussed Turkey’s military presence in Syria (Reuters). So first came diplomacy, but that didn't work.

Now Article 5. It does not automatically require America to attack whoever Turkey clashes with. Each ally decides what action it “deems necessary,” and that action does not even have to involve military force.

But the most inconvenient detail of all: the Israeli strike occurred inside Syria, not on Turkish territory. NATO’s treaty has defined geographic limits, and previous Turkish concerns stemming from fighting in neighboring states have led to Article 4 consultations and defensive assistance, not an automatic NATO war.

But sure, the entire Western alliance was secretly dismantled overnight to save America from having to bomb Israel.

That’s not analysis. That’s a conspiracy theory desperately searching for a timeline that cooperates.

🇬🇧 Two Afghan men who entered Britain illegally have been convicted of raping a woman at knifepoint while she was stargazing on a first date in a London park.

Noorullah Ahmdzai and Khan Agah attacked the couple in Barking Park, holding a knife to the man’s throat while taking turns raping the woman.

Prosecutors said they treated her as “an object they could use and abuse.”

Ahmdzai arrived in Britain on a small boat in 2023, was housed in a taxpayer-funded hotel, then had his asylum claim rejected.

Agah also entered the country illegally and both now face lengthy prison sentences.

This is what a broken system looks like: it can find you a hotel, but not the exit.
