“Listen, I’ve been in this game a long time, played in some of the biggest nights in Europe but what we’ve just witnessed at the Emirates is an absolute DISGRACE. Atlético Madrid have been ROBBED blind in this Champions League semi-final, and if you’re an Arsenal fan celebrating right now, you should be embarrassed.

The laws of the game are crystal clear, and they’ve been twisted into knots to protect the home side. This isn’t refereeing, this is scripting!

Then Griezmann gets clattered in the box by Calafiori, reckless challenge, Law 12 again, careless or excessive force, penalty all day long. They invent some phantom ‘prior foul’ nonsense to bail them out?

VAR protocol doesn’t work like that! You’re meant to check the specific incident, not rewrite the build-up to favour the big Premier League club. Atlético are creating chance after chance, fighting with more heart than I’ve seen from some of these Arsenal players, and they get NOTHING. Soft calls one way, ignored shouts the other, time-wasting ignored, it’s one-way traffic from the whistle.
