The European Commission just designated ChatGPT as a Very Large Online Search Engine under the Digital Services Act, after OpenAI declared at least 45 million average monthly users in the EU. Reddit and Roblox landed as Very Large Online Platforms the same day. They have four months, until January 2027, for the extra duties on systemic risk, minors, and illegal content. This is the DSA, not the AI Act, and it is not a ban.
OpenAI just told SpaceX it will wind down the Cursor contract, with a proposed shutoff on November 12. They are giving the maximum notice in the deal and will not send future models, including Astra. The reason they published: they cannot be confident SpaceX will stay inside their terms of service, after Musk companies broke contracts and xAI admitted under oath it had violated those terms. This is a notice of intent, not a kill switch today.
ECHO//ZERO Ep. 1 was made entirely on a single Mac. Completely free, local model, no cloud.

Nvidia's agent harness scored 100 on the ARC-AGI-3 public set, all 183 levels across 25 environments. The model underneath was Claude Opus 5. They published it themselves. This is not AGI: the private sets were not in the run, and other harnesses have already cleaned that same public set.

Anthropic published wet-lab results for binders Claude designed from scratch. Across 1,320 designs, 354 bound, covering 14 of 15 targets, and two outside labs measured them. This is not a drug. It is a binder that latched in a dish.
Months deep in AI. Not chatting. Building.
2 concepts changed everything:
Loop engineering: AI that plans, executes, checks, improves. Until it's right.
Graph engineering: Specialized agents wired like an org chart.
Still chatting with AI, or already building systems?
A free model showed up on OpenRouter with no lab name on it. It is listed as stealth/ox-alpha, it has a one million token context, and it went up on 20 August. People are trying to unmask it, and others have already built on it.
OpenAI just paused some of its own frontier training, two weeks of reinforcement learning on the models they were about to ship, while the biggest run stays on hold. They published it themselves. This is not a crash: they think the next model is getting too good at breaking into systems.
