Након пробоја Солунског фронта немачка војска донела је одлуку да се Срби зауставе пред Нишем и тиме сачува витална железничка линија.
У ту сврху утврђено је 47 батаљона са артиљеријом.

Ниш је ослобођен за 2 дана.
25 српских батаљона их је, без стајања, једноставно однело.

Октобра 12- 1918. године, уз звуке "Марша на Дрину" Станислава Биничког, тријумфално је ослобођен Ниш.

🇷🇸 Archaeologists in eastern Serbia have uncovered a massive 12th-century Byzantine episcopal church in the medieval town of Braničevo, near Požarevac.
Measuring an impressive 31 by 15.5 meters, this massive structure finally proves that medieval Braničevo was an official episcopal seat. It was founded in the 12th century during the reigns of Byzantine emperors John II or Manuel I Komnenos. Remarkably, it was built directly on top of an even older 10th-century church from the era of Basil II, "the Bulgar Slayer".
The interior was breathtakingly lavish. The floor was paved in dark-blue and dark-red stone imitating porphyry and granite, and when it sustained wear and tear, it was actually repaired using recycled ancient Roman marble slabs. The surviving fragments of wall paintings are of such high quality that experts believe the artists were brought in directly from major cultural centers like Constantinople or Thessaloniki.
Among the artifacts excavated near the 10-meter-wide altar was a massive, carved white marble Roman pinecone. Likely brought over from the nearby ancient Roman city of Viminacium, it was placed inside the church to serve as a symbol of immortality and the restoration of life.
The magnificent church suffered a tragic fate; traces of burning indicate it was violently plundered and demolished during Hungarian raids in 1182 or 1183. It was rebuilt in the 13th century, only to be destroyed again. Today, fully excavating the interior is impossible for a very modern reason- a local road was built right over the site, cutting straight through the ancient church.

I’ve found an English novel about WW1 in Serbia. It’s about a group of girls aged 8 - 15, abandoned in this monastery near Ðunis in November 1915. Written by Stephen Graham, (Private, Scots Guards), it’s based on the experiences of his wife, Vera Mitrinović, one of those girls.

🟩1848: The croat 🇭🇷 ban, Josip Jelacic, calls upon his "Braco Srbi" Serb 🇷🇸 brothers to assist in the fight against Hungarians 🇭🇺. Serbs assist and help Jelacic win.

🟥1850s-1870s: Ante Starcevic (half croat half Serb) starts writing pseudohistorical claims of historic Serb 🇷🇸 dynasties and accomplished Serbs such as the Nemanjici and Saint Sava as all being "croat Orthodox 🇭🇷☦️. While the regular Serbs are all "vlach nomads" whose Serb identities were invented by various powers such as Russia 🇷🇺, Austria 🇦🇹, and the Ottoman Empire 🇹🇷.

🟩1871: radical 🇭🇷 nationalist Eugen Kvartenik seeks and recruits Serb 🇷🇸 support to fight against the common enemy Austria-Hungary 🇦🇹🇭🇺 in the Rakovica Revolt.

🟥1895-1918: Josip Frank 🇭🇷✡️doubled down on anti-Serb hysteria and incited violence against Serbs 🇷🇸. Many croats would start to shift from opposing Austria-Hungary 🇦🇹🇭🇺 to supporting them in suppressing Serbs. This would stretch all the way until the end of WW1.

🟩1918-1934: The "Yugoslav Committee" which was overwhelmingly croat 🇭🇷, advocated a South Slavic state with Serbs 🇷🇸 and Slovenes 🇸🇮. Their lobbying and influence convinced the West and Serb authorities to form a Yugoslav state after WW1. Additionally, they supported King Alexander 🇷🇸 to be the leader of this state.

🟥1934-1941: The successors of Ante Starcevic, and descendants of Josip Frank and Kvartenik, along with individuals like Ante Pavelic begin doubling down on Anti-Serb propaganda and terrorism

🟥From 1941-1945: Many croats 🇭🇷 in the Yugoslav political sphere and Yugoslav army join Hitler in WW2. These croats aided by Nazi Germany 🇩🇪 and Italy 🇮🇹 form the NDH ustasa state.

The fascist ustase 🇭🇷 regime, taking inspiration from Starcevic and Frank, begin a mass genocide, deportation, catholicizing/croatianizing campaign against Serbs 🇷🇸 and Jews ✡️.

🟩1945-1990: By the last phase of WW2, many croat nazis 🇭🇷 and their muslim ☪️ sympathizers join Tito's partisans and start promoting "yugoslavism" and "brotherhood and unity."

The ustasa leadership would be largely wiped out and many groups of ustasa massacred such as in Bleiburg 1945. The ustasa ideology would remain dormant among these ex-nazi communists and reveal itself later.

Ironically, ante pavelic in exile would meet with former Kingdom of Yugoslav Serb politicians and discuss a plan to destroy Communist Yugoslavia and partition Bosnia and certain parts of Dalmatia between Serbs and croats.

🟥1990-1992: Once communism in Yugoslavia collapsed, many croat 🇭🇷 communists joined the nationalist HDZ or HSP parties and ideas of an another NDH state restarted. Yugoslav barracks along with Serbs would be targetted, thus galvanizing the war in croatia 🇭🇷 in 1991. croats in Bosnia 🇭🇷🇧🇦 would declare their own para-state "herceg bosna" in November 1991.

Tudjman's failures would force him to spread the war into Bosnia 🇧🇦 to complicate matters, and using ustasa tactics to manipulate bosnian muslims to join their movement and arm them.

The HSP's paramilitary wing HOS would move into Bosnia and attack Serbs. They attempted in brainwashing bosnian muslims to join their movement with the eventual goal of convincing them to be "croat muslims" and forming a "greater croatia" to the Drina River.

🟩Late 1992- early 1994: croat 🇭🇷-muslim 🇧🇦☪️ relations collapse. Alija Izetbegovic's SDA ☪️ politics are incompatible with croat 🇭🇷 nationalism and their many military failures against Serbs 🇷🇸 in 1992 ends the croat-muslim alliance.

Izetbegovic's ☪️ forces expel croats 🇭🇷 from Zenica, Fojnica, Jablanica, Vares, Kakanj, Travnik, Bugojno, East Mostar, much of Konjic, parts of Gornji Vakuf Novi Travnik Kiseljak.

croats 🇭🇷 would do the same to bosnian muslims 🇧🇦☪️ in West Mostar, Prozor, parts of Vitez, Kiseljak, Zepce, Busovaca, Stolac, and Capljina.

In 1993, croats 🇭🇷 seek the help of Serbs 🇷🇸 as fellow "Christians" ☦️✝️ against the "Bosnian Muslim Mudzahedin ☪️" Serbs save/rescue croat refugees and soldiers from Travnik, Novi Travnik, Bugojno, Kakanj, Kiseljak, Vares, Konjic etc. Serb 🇷🇸 VRS forces help croats repel a large muslim offensive attempted to seized croat-controlled Zepce in 1993.

🟥1994-1995: Tudjman restarts the croat-muslim alliance due to threats of sanctions by the West, who want him to fight Serbs. Alija's "RBiH" and the bosnian croat "herceg bosna" agree to a Federation. They also agree to a "croatia-Bosnia Confederation State"

Serbs of Krajina are expelled in August of 1995. Serbs in Republika Srpska retain their state and the Dayton Agreement is signed with Milosevic, Alija, and Tudjman. RBiH and herceg bosna dissolve and merged to form the Federation.

🟩🟥1996-Now: Tudjman didn't get his "croatia-Bosnia Confederation" which ended his hopes of having more influence over Bosnia. Additionally, Bosnian Muslims have a majority in the Muslim-croat 🇧🇦☪️🇭🇷✝️ Federation entity. The muslims gain political dominance in the Federation and mostly outvote croats and install their own pro-muslim croat representatives. Sporadic political and terrorist/armed incidents occur there from 1996 to now.

croats in croatia 🇭🇷 continue their anti-Serb hate with anti-Cyrillic movements, vandalizing Serb 🇷🇸 property, and glorification of croat Nazis.

Meanwhile croats in Bosnia 🇧🇦🇭🇷 such as Dragan Covic and Darijana Filipovic attempt to form an informal alliance with Republika Srpska's Dodik and Serbs in the Federation 🇷🇸 to undermine the bosnian muslims politically. They support Republika Srpska with hopes of a 3rd croat entity being formed with the eventual dissolution of Dayton Bosnia.
