@RichardLatto This is terrific news Richard, but is it the same episode mentioned by FiF or a different one? It’s also interesting that it’s the same episode auditioned in Australia.
@AnUnknownEnt1ty Sorry it was actually shown on the 11/3/1979. It was part of an American Series. They may not be the same thing or they just used the first episode. The actual show was called Between the War
@AnUnknownEnt1ty That really is bizarre. By 1979 on a Monday night you would have thought the schedules were the same across the country, apart from regional differences For local events. Nationwide was on in Melbourne and Sydney at that time on that day.
@drwhopodcasters Watching Alan Partridge here in Australia has always been difficult. Most of the time it’s trying to work out where or if it’s being shown and if you have access.

I’m not sure where The Age are getting their information from, but it’s highly inaccurate. The idea that without PRAC the staff of PROV are going to go rogue is not only insulting to those staff but questions their very integrity. The ASA have failed their members.
I have tried to confirm this with the censorship file (an example where something wasn’t censored or banned, just to be different) but the file is still undergoing conservation by NAA.
46 years ago today this article appeared in the Melbourne Age regarding the I Claudius episode Zeus by Jove. It’s always been a matter of conjecture if Australia received the original UK print of the episode. This article seems to indicate we did.
