Young people are always told what not to do. But what should you do?
Did you know that most public libraries have a Nintendo Switch to use? That parks show free movies at night? That there's a map of pickup basketball games?
https://t.co/Nb8rOAGO4T is a map of free and affordable things to do this summer that we made just for you.
Because public programs mean nothing if you don't know how to access them.

In 2009 something different happened among candidates running for City Council to unseat an incumbant. A few of us decided we would make our points without being divisive to each other. And we actually did it. Rodrick F. Daley was one of those. His family became friends with mine. Ruddie was a consummate educator and advocate for our community. He never stopped inspiring and fighting for better. He took that tenacity (also called stubbornness 😁) to defying doctors who told him many years ago he'd transition in a matter of months. It was an honor to give him his flowers while he could smell them, including a proclamation a few years back. I'm so glad I got to speak with you a few days ago. Still full of life, still planning and still inspiring.
Yesterday your journey came to an end. You will be missed. You will be remembered. Your impact will still be felt.
Rest In Peace and Power Roderick "Ruddie" Daley
Since 1982, the Congressional Art Competition has stood as a premier opportunity for America’s best, most gifted young artists to showcase their talents.
That’s why I’m calling on all high school students in New York’s 9th District to enter this year’s Art Competition and show this nation exactly what Brooklyn is made of!
And remember — NY09’s winning artist will have their work displayed prominently in the U.S. Capitol for one year, so be sure to submit your entry before the deadline on Friday, April 10th!

Leadership looks like this.
A historic first: the Port Authority is now led by Kathryn Garcia, the agency’s first female Executive Director. Women also lead all five of our line departments: Aviation, Tunnels, Bridges & Terminals, World Trade Center, PATH, and Port.
Here’s to the women shaping the future of our region on International Women’s Day, throughout Women’s History Month, and EVERY DAY.
