The Bears have handed over playcalling duties once again, with Jim Dray now calling the offense and Al Harris calling the defense. Ben Johnson believes he has future coordinators and head coaches on his staff and wants to give them the chance to showcase it.
I found him playing linebacker in Class AA Georgia football. Told him, “Put on 60 pounds, and you’ll become a Division I defensive lineman.”
He believed in the vision, committed to the work, and now he’s making a name for himself in the NFL.
Development. Production. Opportunity.

If you play in a fantasy football league that still rewards points for “yards” and “touchdowns” you are basically playing with toddlers
All my real high stakes leagues have shifted to only giving points for REAL stats like Rush Yards Over Expectation, EPA per Dropback, etc.
Some quick thoughts after watching the Bears offense vs. the Bengals defense:
- LT is Braxton Jones' job to lose
- Bears' best period was in the RZ: three TDs
- I think Kaden Davis makes the team
- Dexter Lawrence was a serious problem (but great work for a practice setting)
Dillon Thieneman hauled in an interception and took it the distance, and then the Bears’ defense and Bengals’ offense gathered after the play for a skirmish.
Joe Burrow tries to thread the ball to Mike Gesicki. Ball gets deflected, picked off by Bears S Dillon Thieneman.
Small scuffle breaks out.
Burrow comes back and rips a out route to Ja’Marr Chase.
On the defensive field, Ja’Sir Taylor gets a sack on a DB blitz.
The Bears picked up where they left off in Cincy last fall as Caleb Williams hit a pass along the sidelines to Rome Odunze, who then broke free of a Bengals defender.
