Just as our schools,
military and fire departments are publicly financed and governed democratically, the grid that delivers all our future power must also be of the people, by the people, and for the people. #mepolitics @OurPowerMaine
“Someday, our children and grandchildren will look back and ask: did we do the right thing, when we had the chance?” said @SethBerry, sponsor a plan to put a consumer-owned utility on the ballot this year. #mepolitics https://t.co/OUpIu6jiC0
Cadet Bone Spurs really pissed off the veteran community when he dishonored the fallen at Arlington National Cemetery.

Project 2025 shifts taxes from the wealthy to the middle class— a family of 4 earning $100K would suffer a $2,600 tax hike, while a family earning $5 million would get a $325,000 tax cut.

@SteveRattner@Brendan_Duke The entire premise of the Republican Party is about the millionaires and billionaires not wanting to pay their fair share of taxes. They rile people up with cultural prejudices, then rob them blind when they get into power. It really is breathtaking.
@Ben_Inskeep It's true that public charging needs to change. But what folks are scared of often should NOT scare them. If you install a Level 2 charger at home -- and most folks can and should -- then for typical commutes, there is no need ever to charge away from home. You just drive.
Every climate and clean energy advocate needs to read @ILSR’s new report on the abuses of monopoly electric utilities. @JohnFFarrell argues that we can’t save the climate without addressing this harmful monopoly first. Check it out 📷 https://t.co/6XrsO30WM1
@paulschott And as your piece notes — it’s the large companies with a reputation problem that do participate. That in itself is very telling...
Maybe the real story here has yet to be written?
@paulschott Paul, did you look into the fees a firm has to pay just to be considered? The vast majority of businesses don’t compete because they don’t see value. I’d argue that most of these rankings are simply advertising, and that genuine news media should treat them accordingly.
Corrupt utility regulator Sam Randazzo indicted in Ohio for accepting at least $4.3 million in bribes from utility FirstEnergy. He faces up to 20 years in prison.

Also, props to @RepGolden for signing 10/16 letter to @POTUS demanding Qatar expel Hamas leaders. "Ismail Haniyeh, the leader behind Hamas’ deadliest-ever attack on Israel, sits comfortably in Qatar... The country’s links to Hamas ... are simply unacceptable." #mepolitics
What about Qatar? Instead of bombing civilians to try to get to Hamas militants underground who are using both Palestinian children and captive Israelis as human shields, what if the US and Israel instead demanded that Qatar arrest and hand over the actual leaders of Hamas? (1/2)
After all, wasn’t it those very same leaders of Hamas, living in luxury in Qatar, far from Gaza, who gave the orders? Wasn’t it the Hamas leaders who laid the plans, who deserve to be held accountable, and who Qatar itself has been funding and coddling for decades? (2/2)
🌲As Mainers head to polls next month to vote on @PineTreePower_, @DataProgress finds strong support for publicly owned utilities nationwide. Maine voters are set to decide whether to replace the state’s 2 private utilities with a publicly owned utility, @PineTreePower_. #YesOn3
In November, Mainers can vote YES on Question 3 to build a power company owned by the people; not distant shareholders.
