@Spideraxe30 Yes! I don't see why not. The team that's been working on this first ASU is very excited to share what they've been up to. I think a /dev article would be a lot of fun to go more in-depth on some of the more behind-the-scenes work for those interested in the craft-details
@Spideraxe30 What this basically means is that, in order to make up-to-standards modern skins, it's really difficult to work off the Base w/ some champs (for a variety of reasons). So by addressing the art/tech-debt on Base and older skins, we make life better for everyone going forward.
@Spideraxe30 It's true, since the ASU work is done by the personalization team. Although in some cases there won't be as much moving anything visually 'into the future' as much as playing catch-up w/ current standards of quality (cleaning up things like animations, rigs, low-res textures).
@Spideraxe30 @twinkerbellLOL Correct! No art blast for this year's Coven. Artists are free to post work as usual.
The team really wanted to lean into bringing in some of the old gods and show more of that relationship between the witches their deities
Brian Vinton was the art lead on this year's Coven
@Spideraxe30 Olaf was a group effort between @raspbearyart@JonBuran and @White_Leyth
Just like all these events, it takes a village of artists. Some viking/berserker likeness may or may not have been inspired by a certain former art director on LoL as well
From the Sentinels 'ancient-but-modern' aesthetic to the challenge to avoid ruining the Ruined with monochromatic. We share the considerations made into distinguishing the Sentinels and the Ruined.

"We're happy to be able to show even just a peek into all the work that went into this event" - @SethHaak#RiotGames#LeagueofLegends#SentinelsOfLight
@Jink17162489@Spideraxe30 We can't share it yet until the event is finished, but I'm looking forward to everyone getting to see more of it in all its glory.
@Spideraxe30 Super excited for the art blast to go live today! The team did such great work. And yes, for anyone asking about the visual novel art, we couldn't include it yet until the full story is revealed when all the regions are unlocked.
@Spideraxe30 For Ruined, really tie the ruined champs to Viego and the black mist. Amplified, twisted versions of themselves. 'Beautifully corrupted' has a nice ring to it.
@Spideraxe30 Making sure Sentinels of Light retained the core identity of champions from all over Runeterra as they banded together under this one cause. Feeling cohesive, but not too samey-samey.
More tactically: Visually leaning into 'ancient-but-modern' aesthetics.
@Spideraxe30 Sure! And hopefully this all came through pretty clearly in the team's execution and the overall vibe of the experience in the client. For Sentinels, really showing off these awesome weapons in the hands of champions that have answered the call to be light in the darkness
@Ghostcrawler Reminds me of one of the main themes of @Gladwell's book 'David and Goliath': the role of adversity in shaping our lives. It's not always the disadvantage that we perceive/assume it to be
