Did DOGE audit SNAP?
Here is why that question is relevant.

First let me be clear- I am not defending any one position I am asking questions we should all be asking.

THE FACTS
SNAP is a completely unconstitutional program created by a completely unconstitutional Act. It is a program, if existing, MUST come at the State level but never from the federal level.

But there is something very strange happening with SNAP. Let me explain-

THE PROBLEM
SNAP, like Medicaid is a mandatory payout program that is established by law is not controlled appropriations.

The Antideficiency Act (31 U.S.C. § 1341) forbids federal officials from obligating or spending funds that Congress has not formally appropriated, even if the underlying law says benefits are “entitled.”

However, SNAP currently has “reserves” that are composed of leftover (unobligated) appropriated funds from prior fiscal years and congressionally authorized contingency accounts that are already allocated for SNAP.

These balances remain available to SNAP until they lapse or until Congress rescinds them. It’s essentially the “rainy-day fund” for SNAP.

According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP), SNAP’s contingency reserve (a form of carry-forward “rainy day” fund) “likely [has] between $5 and $6 billion available” as of the 2025 matter.

CBPP writes: “At the beginning of fiscal year 2026, SNAP had $6 billion in contingency reserves available: $3 billion from FY 2024 and $3 billion from the FY 2025 full-year continuing resolution.”

That means, by law, SNAP is NOT depleted and there is $6 billion allocated for payout that is specifically and intentionally reserved for times like this.

THE QUESTION
Ask yourself, when we have had shutdowns in the past why has SNAP never come up as an issue? Answer- because of these “rainy day” reserves that exist by law.

And now, as this ‘reserve crisis’ unfolds, the real question must be asked:

WHERE IS THE MONEY and WHY has this never been questioned until now? Is the money gone? Or is this a political manipulation?

DOGE has publicly claimed (and some media report) its intention to “audit” or “review” SNAP.

Did DOGE complete the Audit? Because we need to know what happened to $6 billion dollars.

THE REASON FOR CONFUSION

The SNAP program stands as a monument to federal overreach, a welfare scheme born not of constitutional authority, but of legislative craftiness.
As James Madison warned in the Cod Fishery debate of 1792, to interpret the General Welfare Clause as a grant of power is to ‘convert the limited government of the United States into one without limits.’
SNAP exists only through statutes written with deliberate vagueness, language designed to justify the unjustifiable and conceal vast economic manipulations behind closed doors.
Billions of dollars are collected and distributed without any hope of transparency.
