@CarolSt08521611@BrianZahnd Not to speak for Brian, but alas, we don’t know where evil came from is the point. God did not create evil. This is called theodicy.
“Every idea and assumption that we have about God must be measured against the person of Jesus. If they are contradicted by what we have come to know about God through Jesus, they need to be relinquished.”—Trevor Hudson
@CarlosHappyNPO That literally did create some people just to send them to hell. Mind blowing that I actually thought that was good theology at one point…😬😬😬
Christian Nationalism makes the same mistake as some versions of first century messianism in that they see the realization of the God’s kingdom in terms of earthly political power when God had other ideas.
@0liviajulianna If I thought the same way at 34 as I thought at 19….wow. Let’s just say…probs a good thing. And for the record, I know nothing about you. It’s just general synopsis.
Original blessing is more original than original sin.
The deepest truth of the world is that we find our home in God because God is our home. While sin is a reality, when it becomes our main focus, we be come centered on human action.
The gospel is the good news that God’s kingdom has come near in Jesus Christ, & through his life, death, resurrection, and enthronement, the powers of sin & death no longer have the last word.
How we define the gospel will determine the nature of our engagement with the world.
