The Schae-3 boys and I developed a model for the NCAA tourney best on the last 3 to 5 year results. Here are our initial thoughts:
Conf that are generally over-rated: ACC, PAC, and Big 10
Conf generally underrated: SEC and west coast conf (non-PAC teams)
The Schae-3 boys and I are back at it with our NCAA model- 5th year (I am late to post due to work). This year the boys had more input into the formulas! Our thoughts are:
Conf over-rated = Big10; none under
Below are additional insights on ind teams.

That’s another win for the Fort Zumwalt west 6th grade Jags! We are on to the Final Four vs GAC South foes - Francis Howell. In order to prepare, we arranged a scrimmage 😂 with Class 4 State champs @vashon_bball . They are class acts on the court and off the court.
Day 1 from the State Championship in CoMo for Fort Zumwalt West 6th grade playing in the Top Division. Great win (47-44) against a tough Carthage team. Game 2 this pm vs Nixa.
This 6th grade Jr Jags group is a special one - qualifying for the State tourney TWICE! Since Dec 1st we’re 17-5, avg 42 pts/gm and giving up 26/gm. We have moved into the top 10 STL area feeder/school teams after starting around 20. Boys are 🔥 and 🍳 (fire and cooking) 😂.
Going out with a BANG are these 8th grade Jr Jags! Both teams collecting hardware over the wknd going 4-1-1. I will always be your biggest fan! Thanks @kgroves20 for the 2 years you gave to them! Now they are off to @FZWestHoops. Go “Stand on Biz” boys!
I’ve had countless players that during HS and AAU get frustrated with the position their coach plays them at because “In college they are going to have to play a different position”.
In most cases, not all, but most cases when that player gets to college (if they are good enough) they played the same position they did in HS. Because that is their best position.
Play whatever position you need to play to give your team the best chance to WIN!! Figure out the rest later.
