Iran's National team footballer Ramin Rezaeian hit back strongly at a reporter attempting to turn the interview political:
"We're here for football. What happens inside Iran is our issue, and we'll deal with it. It's not for outsiders to interfere with."
WATCH | As the Iranian national anthem was played ahead of kickoff in the match between Iran and New Zealand, the crowd cheered in support after the anthem concluded.
The match between Iran and New Zealand ended in a 2–2 draw.
Iran’s participation comes following the US-Israeli aggression launched against the country, with previous attempts by Washington to politicize Iran’s participation in the World Cup.
Earlier in the tournament cycle, US authorities refused to issue visas for some members of Iran’s support staff, forcing disruptions to team organization and preparation.
The team also relocated its training base from Tucson, Arizona, to Tijuana, Mexico, at the last minute due to these complications.

I'm so rooting for Iran to win this World Cup. The Epstein Empire didn't even let the players rest after the game in LA and forced them back on a flight to Mexico.
Pure oppression.
