@RogueAlys They make mobile (battery-powered) credit card readers. Some food trucks use them. A store employee could bring it out to your car when they bring your order.
@Dom_Lom_DeMarco@RogueAlys@Lord_Boomerang Watched part of a video of it...it looks like they took the Shadow, Fire, Forest, and Spirit Temples from Ocarina of Time and ran them through an M.C. Escher blender.
@RogueAlys@Pero_Velasquez@JamesMendou@FlyingOmelette I wouldn't bother caring what any professional game outlet says about anything. I still read them sometimes just to know about upcoming game news, but I don't take their opinions especially on older stuff very seriously.
@RogueAlys@ACC_KAIN@Pero_Velasquez@JamesMendou@FlyingOmelette There were some people who hated Dragon Warrior so much that they swore off RPGs altogether. The first game that's like an RPG I ever played was Zelda II. The first true RPG I finished was the first Final Fantasy.
@RogueAlys@Pero_Velasquez@JamesMendou@FlyingOmelette I agree with Paul. That's not a good idea. If you want to replay an RPG, I'd go with one you've been more enthusiastic about, like Earthbound or Robotrek. Didn't you plan an oddities article for the latter?
@FlyingOmelette What I remember the trolls doing at the GP was stirring up a lot of crap, then apologizing for it a day later, only to start it up again a few days later until we finally got fed up with their nonsense and left.
@FlyingOmelette I wanted to see what the actual line is, because it does sound kind of stupid, like the mountain itself is forgiving him, but I don't typically consider remakes as canon.
@FlyingOmelette Just had one question: Where did you hear about that line of dialogue, "Will this mountain wipe away my past?" I'm guessing it's from one of the remakes or the JP version? Because there is no line anywhere close to that in the original SNES version.
@FlyingOmelette And another point I haven't made yet in this discussion but keep meaning to is that at no point is Cecil ever abusive to Rosa. I'm not saying it's perfect in every way, but it's just not what *certain people* wanted you to believe.
@FlyingOmelette Cecil forgives certain characters because, like you've said, it's based on the situation, just as it would be in any other game where a character is controlled against their will. But a person who's abusive IRL is not being controlled and thus this does not apply to them.
@RogueAlys You don't have to say anything. I'm fine with my opinion of the game and fine with yours. We can just leave it at that.
But keep this in mind: People like the ones we're discussing often co-opt art and twist its meaning to suit their own agendas.
@RogueAlys As someone who is a fan of the RPG in question, I completely agree that the "moral" should not have been taken out of context in the way it was. At the very least, the people doing it should've practiced what they preach.
Having a lot of dumbass problems with my Twitter account. I have the absolute worst luck with web based emails and accounts that rely on linking to them.
