When it’s time to #harvest our #worm castings, we place all the useable #bedding off to the side. We’ll take from the used bedding first since it still has valuable #microorganisms that will give your new farms a big boost they wouldn’t get if you started fresh! #wormfarming
We like to double sift our #worm castings to provide the best product for your #plants. We sift out large clumps of bedding and food not yet broken down and leave behind nutrient rich #vermicompost filled with #microbiology. It makes the perfect addition to any soil mixture!
We’ve got even more #vermicompost drying out so we can sift it! Start thinking about your #garden now! #Wormcastings are perfect for better #soilhealth and #drought prevention. Check out our website to see the benefits that #redwigglers add to your garden!
Our first round of #vermicompost is laying out to dry! This pile is just from our square stackable farms! It’s wild to see how much can fit in a small space, but that’s one of the best parts of #worm#farming! Small things often lead to something mighty, much like #redwigglers 🪱
This is the the first #sifter we use for our #castings. We sift it through a 1/4 inch screen to help weed out the larger #worms and debris that hasn’t fully #composted yet. The sifted castings go through ANOTHER sifter to get that soil-like consistency we’re looking for!
One of the best parts about sifting is seeing all the baby #worms that get left behind. Don’t worry, we collect them after and place them in their new #farms! There are some that we miss, but that just means they help keep #castings from us fresher, longer!

If you’ve got #worms, we want to hear about it! Let us know how they’re doing. Send pictures. Ask questions! We love hearing from other #wormfarmers. If you bought a farm from us, or if you haven’t and just want to talk about worms, we want to hear from you!
#Composting Alley is coming along! We’ve got over 10 #composters set up and ready to go! Luckily we’ve been able to get most of these cheaply, or even for free, from people getting rid of them. You know what they say about one man’s #trash…

Our #bucket situation has gotten a little out of hand, so we #built something to help! We set it up under the deck, and already it’s helped immensely. No more random buckets around the #yard or in a giant pile! The best part is that it was made entirely out of #scrapwood!

We’re getting some #farms ready for #sifting! It’s crazy how much #vermicompost a few farms can provide! What’s even crazier is how much finely sifted #castings this will actually produce. We’ll end up with 1/3 of this pile in finished product.
Holy #cardboard! We never like to run out of #bedding for the #worms, so we get a little crazy. This mountain took us three hours to prep. Then it’s time to #shred! It’s a process, but look at all the cardboard that gets #recycled! Feed worms, not landfills 🪱
The #worms are doing their thing, so we’ve been playing around on our new #scrollsaw. There will be no shortage of #sawdust to feed them. Everything we’ve made has been cut from scrap wood in an effort to keep costs and environmental impact low!

When feeding our #worms, we like to grind our food up as small as possible. It make it easier for them to eat, and helps them eat faster! And more eating creates more #vermicompost. It doesn’t look too appetizing, but the #redwigglers love it!

#Vermicompost is the perfect addition to any #garden. It’s a #fertilizer and #pesticide in one amazingly healthy combination. If you’re a gardener who wants an alternative to chemicals for your #plants, consider a #wormfarm! We’ve got some available and ready to go!
Brewed up some #CompostTea, and the #bubbles on it were looking real nice. That #foam indicates that your tea is alive with millions of #microorganisms! No #worms were harmed in the making of this tea! They were still alive at the end of the brewing process.
Did you know that #worms will eat #sawdust!? We’ve been make a lot of woodworking products recently and have an abundance of sawdust, so’ve been adding it to #farms. Just make sure to only add sawdust from untreated wood, because you don’t want the chemicals to harm your worms!
