I finally passed my trading combine.

Woke up today. Bought MES at 6:56 AM. SL hit 3 minutes later for -$800, I’m back to $104k, hopes of getting funded today down the shitter. But then price rebounds off the VWAP overnight; I scale in, 60 contracts deep, I’m up to 105.5k, NEARLY THERE….

Then price pulls back, and I take profits, better safe than sorry, back to slight green on the day. Price keeps grinding.

Was that good risk management, or a lack of guts? Knowing which is which is crucial, and difficult.

Back to watching and waiting for the right setup, and I see it. 11:01 AM, back to VWAP open. I enter. 15 contracts. Then 30. Then I hit buy again for 45.

Price stagnates. I sit and wait.

Stall, stall, stall, then a small move, and I’m locked, SL at BE, price rips, $600, $800, $1k, $1.2k.

-1.6k on the day today. Took a long setup on ES at 7:01 am PST and held for a bit but got freaked out by NQ holding below the open VWAP and dropped the position. My gut, wrong or not, told me the setup wasn’t right and to stay flat due to how ES and NQ were diverging. My execution was fine until it wasn’t, because then I wanted just one more green trade.

Don’t ask for one more green trade. Ask for one less red one.

Big day with @ChaseDienhart today, +75% on my first options position in a while (time to start scaling 😁) and netted $1.8k on the props. Missed a clean NQ trade earlier in the day but ended up catching the short on ES. $400 away from passing my first challenge on topstep.
