Imagine that at your workplace there was an employee of the month, a black employee of the month, a Latino employee of the month, and an Asian employee of the month... I think that makes more sense now.
So if I purchase a DVD and digitize it, that’s copyright infringement. But if an AI company buys my book and scans it to train their system, that’s perfectly fine? Once again, corporations are allowed to play by their own rules. I’m so sick of the hypocrisy.
The Grammys are receiving MASSIVE BACKLASH for Introducing the "Best Asian Pop Music Performance" Award.
People are furious that Asian artists are being separated from the International Level.
Out of ten men, one makes a sexual joke at a woman, two laugh, three fake a chuckle to fit in, and four stay silent. None of them speak up. Later, nine of them still believe they're the "good guys." But from the woman's perspective, the laughter, the silence, the looking away, it all creates the same environment. So when women say"most men are the same," this is what they mean: not that every man harasses women, but that most men help protect the system that does.
The assassination of MIT Professor Nuno Loureiro was a planned hit job.
He was not just any professor. He was a pioneer in the race for unlimited energy.
His work to advance limitless, emission-free power was a threat to Big Oil and his murder should be seen through this lens.
Nuno Loureiro was assassinated yesterday
He was a professor + the director of MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center
> 47 years old
> Studied nuclear fusion (= energy source of the Sun + stars) for 10 years at MIT
> His award-winning work focused on creating a virtually limitless, clean energy source on Earth - one that doesn’t produce carbon or radioactive waste (usual biproduct of fission reactors)
> His research was essentially a threat to companies in the energy sector (fossil fuels, wind, solar, etc)
> Nuno was vital to the development of fusion nuclear power plants, without him the path ahead is less clear + his death will set back the entire field
Nuno is not the first MIT fusion scientist to be brutally murdered, in 2004 Eugene Mallove was also shot in his home
I hope this opens eyes – there is an agenda at play
“I will not give birth to a life that will discriminate against my gender. My own flesh and blood must not become a blade and turn against me. If the world born from my body oppresses me I will not let that world exist.”
RESPECT for Korean Feminist Women!
