Yesterday, it was our honour to be part of the launch of the AgriConnect Compact at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture. We welcomed the former Prime Minister of Ethiopia who is also the new Board Chair of @CGIAR, HE Hailemariam Dessalegn Boshe; the Chair of the System Council CGIAR, Renaud Seligmann; and the Executive Managing Director of CGIAR, Dr Ismahane Elouafi who along with 14 DGs of CGIAR are holding the CGIAR board meeting for the first time in Nigeria.

The AgriConnect Compact is a national compact to grow food and create jobs by developing the agricultural value chain. Let me again thank our father, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR; my brother, H.E. Umar @uanamadi, Governor of Jigawa State; the Honourable Minister for Agriculture and Food Security, @SenatorAKyari who along with development partners, the World Bank Group, the @AfDB_Group, @IFAD, @IITA_CGIAR and others were part of the event and have continued to contribute to food security in Nigeria.
