Two months of solid progress. Then it stopped.

My coach thought I wasn't following the plan. I was.

The problem was something we weren't even measuring.

Trusting the process isn't waiting for it to work. It's staying curious enough to find what you're missing.

Passed over for a promotion in my early 20s.

So I joined the Marine Corps.

It wasn't panic. It was strategic.

Pivoting isn't quitting. It isn't waiting either. It's recognizing the path you're on isn't the one, and choosing a different one entirely.

Hurt my shoulder in a mountain biking accident. Started training again to rebuild the mobility.

Then it gave out on an incline press.

My coach didn't say push through. He said see a PT first. I was back the next day, just lighter.

Then I realized I'd been putting myself last. So I started saying no. Full stop.

No is a complete sentence.

Client missed his check-in, called it a motivation problem. It wasn't. It's never motivation, discipline, or accountability. It's always a missing system. Brush-your-teeth test: build it in hard enough and the daily vote disappears.

Cardio machines never stuck. Walking did. Started as a way to get out of my desk chair. Now it's 2-3 weighted walks a day, years running.

Most people push through fatigue and wonder why they plateau. Planned rest is the move.
