The great Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, passed away 11 years ago today.
He was just 55 years old when we lost him.
Iwata’s leadership of Nintendo and our industry will never be forgotten.
I miss him every day.

genuinely fascinating that we’ve hit a point where the full monetization of the internet and ai bot takeover has led to a majority of people wanting tech minimalism
For all that orthodox economists *hate* tariffs in all their forms, the question, "do tariffs work?" is a complex one, which can't be answered unless you specify *which* tariffs, in *what* context:

@MTGCal (2/2) $60 was an unrealistic price, it's because shareholders cling to the unrealistic expectation of infinite growth. It's why games can turn tidy profits and still not meet expectations, and it's why game companies have record years and still lay off huge percentages of staff
@MTGCal (1/2) I'm sorry, but this just isn't true. Especially now, as manufacturing costs of physical copies eat into profits less each year. $80 games will still have microtransactions, and those microtransactions will still cost as much as a premiere indie game each. It's not because
@studiocalcifer@Nintendeal And as a reminder, some physical games won't even have the game on the cart. The cart will just serve as the key to a fully digital copy
