I am Canadian. I am Jewish. I am the daughter of a Holocaust survivor and child of immigrants from the former Soviet Union. I understood, immediately, on October 8, that what was happening on the streets of Toronto, and elsewhere in Canada, was serious. Really serious. And every day since, that concern has become more pronounced. And I saw these things not because I am a prophet, but because I pay attention. I see what is there, not what I want to see. And I understand history. I’m very unsentimental about it all.
Since Bondi many people have begun to understand, more than two years on, that the extreme antisemitism that exploded in Canada on October 7 was dreadfully serious. Quite a few have written to me lately, expressing dismay. But it was all there. Plain as day.
Even in Europe, police were more proactive in managing public order and Jew hating incitement and violence engaged in by Islamists and “progressives.” Europe understands what happens when antisemitism flourishes.
And Canadians? They became jurisdictional experts overnight. The constant Criminal Code infringements? A new cohort of legal geniuses pontificated: “municipal issue.”
Pardon my language but…if u don’t know what you’re talking about then stfu. The violence and incitement in 🇨🇦 have been licensed and emboldened at every level of leadership and law enforcement. Right up to the Prime Minister.
The nerve. For Mark Carney to show up at a candle lighting event, mere hours after Bondi, affecting solemnity. But the same man stokes the raging antisemitism with his ignorant policies. He understands nothing about Islamism. But he smugly forges ahead. He fancied himself a geopolitical leader who sorted out the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in a one hour phone call w Mahmoud Abbas. Who is going to have the moral conviction to say: “Muslim values are not Canadian values.” We have values. We used to, anyways. We were a tolerant country in which diversity was managed. Integration took time.
My parents? Loved Canada. And always taught their children to love 🇨🇦. Work hard. Don’t complain. And be grateful that you live in such a peaceful place.
They would never, ever, in their craziest moments, have taken to the streets to denounce everything about their new, beautiful home. They would never have had the audacity to spit in the faces of those who built and contributed to Canada. Never.

The details:

•⁠ ⁠Release of 2500-3000 Palestinian prisoners.
•⁠ ⁠Negotiations on the conditions to end the war begin on the first day.

The government’s highest duty is to return the hostages and end the torment of their families.

I spoke to former Israeli hostage Or Levy last week.

He shared everything about his captivity.

I’ve written down everything I remember from our conversation. Please take one minute to read his chilling and terrifying experience.

He told me that in Hamas’ tunnels, he didn’t speak for months—because they warned him that if he spoke, they would kill him.

After so long, he forgot what his own voice sounded like. Sometimes he would cover his face with his shirt and whisper—just to remember how he sounds.

He said you can barely breathe in those tunnels because of the mold.

They were given one single pita bread every two days—often moldy, in different colors. Many times Hamas officers would flaunt their food and taunt them.

The tunnels are only 4–5 feet high, so you can’t stand. They were rarely allowed to use the bathroom and could shower maybe once every 2 months at best (just a small sink rinse).

At one point, Hamas moved him to an even harsher tunnel and chained him to another hostage for eight straight months. They were told that if they were heard speaking to each other, they would be killed.

On October 7th, immediately after kidnapping him, they killed his wife. For an entire year, he did not know whether she was alive or dead. On the day of the hostage deal, the IDF informed him that she had been killed.

On October 7th, when he was kidnapped from the Nova Festival, he said he was more terrified of the “innocent civilians” than of Hamas. Not one civilian tried to help him. On the contrary—they all tried to kill him. Hamas actually had to protect them from the civilians.

From what he experienced, most Palestinians in Gaza want all Jewish people dead.

Don’t be on the wrong side of history.
Israel is not the enemy.
Israel wants peace.

Tonight is yet another night our hostages are chained in mold-infested, five-foot tunnels, starving to death.

When the world realized that defeating the Nazis was the only way forward, even though millions of Germans lost their lives, no one debated the necessity of that war.
