Fake AI-Grandmother combats scammers 😍

UK mobile network O2 has launched "Daisy," an AI designed to combat phone scammers. Daisy imitates an elderly woman, chatting with fraudsters to waste their time. Powered by a custom language model and voice AI, Daisy spins believable yet meandering tales, keeping scammers on the phone for up to 40 minutes. When prompted for sensitive info, Daisy provides fake details, adding to the scammers' frustration.

This clever AI not only distracts fraudsters but also helps O2 analyze their tactics to better protect customers. Inspired by popular "scambaiting" creators like Jim Browning, Daisy is part of O2's broader fraud prevention efforts, including spam filters and scam call detection.
