I'm excited to share that today, we officially distributed 900 laptops to various districts across our region as part of the One Million Coders programme.
These laptops, were sent from the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations under the leadership of Hon. Samuel Nartey George. The Ministry delivered the consignment to our Regional Co-ordinating Council earlier this week, and I'm happy to report that we have now passed them on directly to the districts.
This means thousands of our youth in our region can now receive hands-on training in coding, software development, data science, cybersecurity, and digital literacy.
To our young people, the laptops are coming to your district. Be ready. Learn. Build. Innovate.
Let's close the digital skills gap together.
Ghana retain Africa U15 girls title today after beating Burkina Faso in the final of the ASFC championship in Tanzania on penalties. Congrats to our girls 💪🇬🇭
20 years ago, I was studying abroad at the @UnivofGh. Like spaceflight, it was a positive, life-changing, perspective-deepening experience. Seeing the beauty of Ghana from space reminds me of the amazing people I met there and how in exploring the world, we learn about ourselves.
What a glorious Sunday at Anfoega Senior High School's 60th anniversary!
This morning, I joined the celebration at their new dining hall which was abandoned since 2016 but now nearing completion. That's the difference leadership makes.
After service, I inspected our "Water for All Project" on campus with DCE Hon. Ernest Adevor and Drip Coordinator Hon. Elliot Wogbe. 10,000-liter capacity, 8 fetching points, solar + national grid. Coming alive by end of April.
Also coming mid-April is the sod cutting of a two-storey girls' dormitory.
I Donated GH₵10,000 to the anniversary, plus jerseys and football sets.
Fellow Countrymen and Women , what we do at the Ministry of Road and Highways is largely engineering. Don’t be mislead by anyone with a hidden motive. No contractor in Ghana has only one staff. I am told someone mentioned the name of a firm called Sanam (4 workers per SSNIT clearance) and Build Managers (1 worker). These are contractors with many active staff working on site currently. Disregard the disinformation.
I joined the national Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia; the MP for Akatsi North, Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe; DCE for Akatsi North, Hon. Bless Kodjo Katamani; MP for Ketu North, Hon. Edem Agbana; alongside our hardworking regional and constituency executives in Akatsi North, for the sod-cutting ceremony to commence the construction of a new constituency party office at Ave Dakpa.
In support of this important project, I made a modest contribution of 1,000 blocks, 100 bags of cement, and a cash donation to assist with the commencement of construction.
Our National Chairman, Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who served as the Guest of Honour, delivered the keynote address and performed the sod-cutting ceremony to officially begin the project.
The proposed office will serve as the main organisational hub for the party in the constituency and further strengthen our structures at the grassroots as we continue working together in unity and purpose.
