So long as those inequalities exist due to cultural appropriation there will be gatekeepers to respect, celebrate, honor, and protect their cultural identity & products from American society’s nature of theft, assimilation and bootlegging those appropriated cultures as their own.

@AnaKasparian There’s a thin line between cultural appropriation & celebrations. Food is a cultural commodity that can be enjoyed by anyone. Other aspects of cultural traditions aren’t as cut & dry. POC have had our culture stolen and bastardized historically making us protective

The way by which the Kardashians were able to co-opt Black fashion & phenotypic beauty and being deified for cultural appropriation is the problem. Black & POC femmes are relegated to the bottom of the desirability hierarchy & marginalized for these cultural esthetics.
