Plenty of women, myself included, have been playing games for decades. The reason some people think otherwise is because every time women openly admitted to being gamers, some thumb-shaped guy like Endy showed up to tell them to get back in the kitchen.

Then years later those same people look around and wonder where all the female gamers came from, as if we just spawned into existence yesterday.
