I got shadowbanned by my own automation while building a growth tool for X. Can't even be mad, that one's on me 🫡

But here's the part that actually broke me: X tells you nothing. No notification, no email, appeals that go nowhere. Your reach just dies and you spend weeks staring at your stats, wondering if your content got shit or if anyone even sees you. The silence messed with my head way more than the ban did.

So while X had me in jail, I built the damn tool myself. Shadowban Radar runs the 4 checks X never shows you: search suggestion ban, search ban, ghost ban, reply deboosting. Free, no login, 30 seconds. You get a score, a page you can share, and a Monitor mode that watches your account daily.

It scored my own account 30/100 while I was building it. This week the ban lifted and the radar caught it. X never said a word either way. Of course.

I don't think old Twitter is coming back, but something is clearly shifting rn: since Nikita Bier left, accounts are getting unbanned everywhere, mine included. The algo was never the real problem imo. False positives + zero human support is what's broken, and this quiet unban wave is the first sign of a real fix in years. Hopefully it keeps going 🤞

Posted this while X had me in jail ⛓️‍💥, my own shadowban checker scoring me 30/100. Two weeks later, an update with numbers :

535 accounts ran a shadowban test on Shadowban Radar this past week. 59% came back banned. And 1 in 7 accounts that checked clean were restricted the next day.

This site is 17 days old and most of its traffic now comes from AI engines citing it. Grok and ChatGPT alone sends hundreds of visitors a week, 20x what Google sends. Answer engines cite whoever holds the primary data.

Today I’m hitting 100 followers 🎉

My journey on X started because I was trying to not feel alone and isolated anymore or like some alien with my overflowing passion for AI.

Very quickly, I realized there was a HUGE and UNLIKELY community around this love for LLMs, agents and this stargate that’s changing our daily lives ✨

I found guys just getting started, experts installing agents in companies, guys obsessed with AI news, guys changing their lives with this new launchpad toward infinity . I saw marclou, fucking OGs like levelio, unstoppable people, life fighters, dreamers 👀 Founders, builders, passionate people in so many fields I didn’t even know existed!

All of this gave me hope again for a better future. A few months ago I left everything because of burnout, I was managing 40 restaurants for a company listed on the stock market. I was just an ant, an employee number they squeezed until there was nothing left. Those bastards broke me. I ended up in a fucking depression 😣

X quickly shadowbanned me, which motivated me to understand why and how. I built myself an agent to track my ban, then I thought what would good old Marc do with this? A SaaS obviously and shadowbanradar was born!! Thanks Marc for showing me the way 🤝

I think Shadowban is just the beginning. I couldn’t sell this agent, so I installed posthog and spent hours and hours watching user behavior. IT WAS A FUCKING REVELATION. I loved it so much. I worked on the pain, the funnel, I helped guys for free in DMs just to keep believing in it and talking with people.

Then I gave myself an ultra small goal: make €1 before the end of the month. I managed to get 18 customers and seriously THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART you remind me that you should never fucking give up.

Now I send DMs to understand with them how to do better. Sometimes I do support just to help the guy whose X account is everything to him, even if he’s not paying anymore. And fuck it feels good.

Today I’m starting to dream about freedom again thanks to X, thanks to you guys 🙏
