@TheRobbinAK@oddOasdd Well, the anomalous things ingame are what you want to detect. The PUBG servers could have safeguarding in play to reject manipulated packets. Certain attacks exist by manipulating packet headers, flags, etc but those are fairly detectable and are rarely used for that reason.
@TheRobbinAK@oddOasdd Anomalous Detection is definitely possible, but then you have to define anomalous. For instance, me winning a solo squad game would be anomalous for my ability, but that would be just a normal match for you ;)
@TheRobbinAK@oddOasdd Which could easily be solve with real-time monitoring from humans. But that brings in the factor of human vulnerability, we aren't perfect. We definitely make mistakes so maybe something would slip by right in front of their eyes. Making the detection rate below 100%
@TheRobbinAK@oddOasdd It's more a simple issue of having to predict the unpredictable. How can you develop an AC with signatures written to detect ANY form of abuse in a game that could give you an advantage.
@TheRobbinAK Fair enough, if you take the Confidentiality out of the CIA triad for Esports gaming. It would definitely increase the Integrity and the Available of the game
@TheRobbinAK The same reason why its not possible is why my career field exists. You have to constantly be evolving how you're detecting cheats or malicious activity because they're always trying to outpace you. Think about how long malicious hackers have been around. How do they still exist?
@TheRobbinAK Its just not possible, Robbin. You could monitor every single byte sent/received and keystroke but cheats would still get through even with the insane amount of resources that monitoring would take.
