On comeng seats you can accidentally bump your head against the person behind you.
Plus the 2 by 3 seat layout makes very little walk way.
Tall seats give a bit more privacy

@tomsappetite I think it's more a "boy who cried wolf" situation.
We in Australia often seen UK cry about heat when it isn't hot.
So when a genuine heatwave happens no one takes it seriously.
I had to be shown the actual temperature before realising how bad it got.
