Actor @rainnwilson, a member of the Baha’i faith, joined bipartisan lawmakers on Capitol Hill to advocate for religious freedom ahead of America’s 250th anniversary. “It is an opportunity to ask profound questions,” Wilson noted.
« How can we leave behind tendencies that divide us and replace them with a widening circle of concern? » Wilson asked. « We need to be able to speak and think in terms of spiritual and moral dimensions of individual and collective life. »
Congressman @RepGusBilirakis, co-chair of the Congressional International Religious Freedom Caucus, said, “Religious freedom is not simply an American value, it is a universal human right, and I truly believe that.”
“Every person is endowed with inherent dignity and deserves the freedom to live according to their conscience.”

It’s been 57 days since, #Sara_Sepehri, a Bahá’í resident in Shiraz, was arrested and taken to Adelabad Prison. She remains in legal limbo without access to adequate medical care.
She has developed stomach bleeding, while prolonged interrogations have worsened a pre-existing eye condition. Doctors warn her eyesight is at serious risk, with potential for bleeding and permanent damage.
Although some initial treatment was provided, it is insufficient. She requires specialized care, regular monitoring, and ongoing medical access.

Verily I say, the human soul is, in its essence, one of the signs of God, a mystery among His mysteries. It is one of the mighty signs of the Almighty, the harbinger that proclaimeth the reality of all the worlds of God…

Today at sunset, Bahá’is celebrate the Declaration of the Báb (a Messenger of God), who was the forerunner of Baha’u’llah, the founder of the Bahá’i Faith.
Born in Shiraz, a city in southern Iran, on October 20 1819, the Báb (which means The Gate in Arabic) was the symbolic gate between past ages of prophecy and a new age of fulfilment for humanity. His primary purpose was to awaken the people to the fact that a new period in human history had begun, one which would witness the unification of the entire human race and the emergence of a world civilization of spiritual and material prosperity.
It was His own mission, the Báb declared, to herald the coming of this promised Manifestation of God. The Báb explained that the new Manifestation would usher in an age of peace and justice that was the hope of every longing heart and the promise of every religion.
